The ten-day Beyond Adventure African Highlands event is truly an immersive adventure, focusing on experiences, away from the typical tourist traps. Rwanda and Uganda don’t just offer the best primate trekking on the planet but also some of the most amazing gravel roads you can only dream about – all set against the backdrop of endless green hills, amazing volcanic mountainsides, never-ending savannahs, lakes and the famed Nile River – the longest river in the world.

At the start line, you’ll begin by getting behind the steering wheel of our specially prepared classic 911 Safari cars and drive off on the bright streets of Kigali before finding your way into the lush Rwandan mountains. Up in the Virunga volcanic mountains you will be hiking through misty bamboo forest and will be able get personal with the majestic mountain gorillas. Nothing quite encapsulates the feeling of sitting in tranquil forest surroundings with a family of magnificent mountain gorillas – the last of their kind.
Once you cross the border to Uganda you’ll head towards the Queen Elizabeth National Park, where the group will also track the famous tree-climbing lions. Expect to see other stunning wildlife such as elephants, hippos, chimpanzees, big cats, crocodiles, buffaloes, and plenty of antelope species all roaming free.
